I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...
the cast offs of human society.
I saw in their eyes love and hope,
fear and pain,
sadness and betrayal.
And I was angry. "God," I said, "this is terrible!
Why don't you do something?"
God was silent for a moment
and then He spoke softly.
"I have done something." He replied.
"I created you."

Please don't breed or buy while homeless pets die
News From Jo Ann HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!Are you looking to adopt a new family member? Be sure to stop by the Mingle with Our Mutts this Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the Franklin County Animal Shelter at 1731 Alum Creek Dr. For more information, please visit: www.minglewithourmutts.org _________________________________________________________________ SORRY ..... NO MORE CATS. Due to the large number of dogs that I have in my care, I am no longer able to accept cats into my rescue. It just isn't fair to a new, scared kitty to come into my home with "12" large breed dogs. Although my dogs are well socialized with cats, not all cats are socialized with dogs. Many stray cats have been chased or even attacked by dogs.
Being placed in a new environment with big... and sometimes "rowdy" dogs can be extremely traumatizing to a new foster cat.
If you have found a stray, a mother cat or kittens, please contact Kozy Cats, Colony Cats, Whiskers, Friends for Life Animal Haven, or Forgotten 4-Paws.
DO NOT CALL CAPITAL AREA HUMANE SOCIETY as they will more than likely euthanize the cats no matter what they tell you.
_________________________________________________________________ Be sure to check out my fast-growing blog (www.mypetrescueblog.com) for numerous articles on everything pet rescue from legislation to Pit Bull education. I welcome your comments and ideas as well!
Also, please consider becoming a "Foster Parent" for a homeless pet. This is, in my opinion, the most important part of "rescue". We can pull animals from kill shelters and transport them from coast to coast, every day of the week, but WITHOUT a foster home to provide safety and love until these animals are adopted, our efforts in trying to save lives has little meaning.
So, if you can find it within your heart and have room in your home, please consider becoming a foster parent. You can fill out the on line application which I also use for my volunteers.
We cannot change the world by saving just ONE animal, but for that ONE animal, it is the world.
